# Scoring guide: a recommendation

Use it when: You asked an AI to compare options and recommend one, and you want to know if the recommendation holds up.

## How to use it

1. For each row, find the evidence in the work and quote it.
2. Rate the row Strong, Partly or Weak, using the words in the table.
3. Fix the weakest row first, then run the guide again.

## The guide

### A clear choice

Ask: Does it name one option, in the first line?

- Strong: It names one option to choose, in the first line.
- Partly: It leans one way but hedges.
- Weak: It lists the options without choosing.
- Evidence: Quote the first line.

### Reasons from the material

Ask: Does each reason come from facts you gave it?

- Strong: Each reason comes from facts in the material, quoted.
- Partly: The reasons are sound, but one rests on an assumption.
- Weak: The reasons are general, or made up.
- Evidence: Quote each reason and the line it rests on.

### Cost and risk shown

Ask: Are the main cost and the main risk of the choice stated?

- Strong: The main cost and the main risk are both stated.
- Partly: One of the two is missing.
- Weak: Only the benefits are shown.
- Evidence: Quote the cost line and the risk line.

### What would change it

Ask: Does it say what new fact would change the answer?

- Strong: It says what new fact would change the recommendation.
- Partly: It hints at uncertainty without saying what matters.
- Weak: It presents the choice as certain.
- Evidence: Quote the line, or say it is missing.
