A Worked Example

Job: Tighten a routine project update.

Starting material: Invented project notes: Ana will draft the update by Friday; Lee will review it Monday. Draft: In today's fast-paced world, the team successfully leveraged collaboration.

Useful Result to Aim For

A grounded revision could say: Ana will draft the update by Friday, and Lee will review it Monday.

What to check: Confirm each owner and date against the notes. A pattern flag does not show AI authorship or prove that a revised claim is true.

Do It in the Tool

  1. Paste a draft. Use enough text for the selected patterns to be meaningful.
  2. Inspect. Read the highlighted words and the reason for each flag.
  3. Decide. Revise a passage only if the suggestion fits your meaning.

Pattern matches do not identify authorship or prove a draft is accurate.

The Six Selected Patterns

Dashes used as asides
A long dash or spaced hyphen inside a sentence may read awkwardly. Consider a comma, colon, parentheses or two sentences.
Filler openers
A broad opener such as “Overall, the results are encouraging” may hide the point. Say what is encouraging.
Stacked hedges
“May possibly help” can be tightened to one hedge, or paired with the reason for uncertainty.
Approximate quantities
For “About 2,000 people came,” check the estimate and its basis. Keep the qualifier if precision is uncertain.
Repeated phrases
Six words repeated in two places may be worth shortening or rewording.
Even sentence lengths
After eight complete sentences, inspect whether a short sentence would help beside a long one.

Review One Passage in Context

Read the highlighted words and the pattern note, then edit only if the suggestion preserves your meaning. Keep your source draft before changing it.

Know the Limits

The page highlights selected writing patterns. It cannot identify a human or AI author, check facts or make a clean result prove quality. Read numbers and source claims yourself.

Take Away the Result

Copy the revised passage you chose. The tool flags and local edits do not make an authorship judgment.

Keep or Recover Your Work

Keep the source draft separately before editing. If you leave an unsaved browser session, return with the original text rather than assuming a style flag preserved the document.
