For builders

Every template is a plain file you can read, change and take into the tools you already use. This is the file format, and how to use the n8n and Claude skill files.

Template file format

One YAML file per template. It says what you paste in, the steps and their prompts, and the checks. The four formats (prompt chain, checklist, Claude skill and n8n file) are all built from it, so changing the file changes all four.

tidy-a-list.yamlSample
id: tidy-a-list
title: Tidy a list of names
job: Put a messy list of names into one clean format.
use_when: you have a list typed by several people and need it consistent
audience: Anyone who keeps a contact or sign-up list.

inputs:
  - id: list
    label: The list
    kind: long_text
    required: true
example: "ana silva, J. Okafor, PRIYA N."

steps:
  - id: tidy
    name: Tidy the names
purpose: Put every name in the form First Last.
    prompt: |
Rewrite each name below as First Last, one per line.
Do not add or drop anyone.

      {{inputs.list}}
outputs: One name per line, in First Last form.

quality_checks:
  - id: same-count
name: Nobody was added or dropped
    on: tidy
    kind: human
ask: Does the new list have the same number of names as the old one?
    on_fail: flag

outputs:
  - A clean list, one name per line.

formats: [n8n, skill, chain, checklist]

human
A question left for you to answer when you read the result.

Import into n8n

Tested with n8n 2.20, checked 2026-10-05
  1. Download the n8n file

Open a template and download its n8n file, or take it from the list at the foot of this page. It is a single .json file.

  2. Import it

In n8n, make a new workflow, open its menu at the top right and choose Import from file. Pick the .json file.

  3. Connect your own AI account

Open the node called Chat model and pick your own credential. To use another AI service, delete that node, add that service’s chat model node and connect it to the model plug under every step and every AI check.

  4. Paste your material

Open the node called Inputs and paste your material into each field. Examples are filled in, so you can try the template first.

  5. Run it and read the result

Click Execute workflow, then open the node called Result to read the answer, anything flagged and the checks left for you.

Good to know

The file holds no key and no account. Your AI account stays yours, and nothing is sent to Logic Lab.
Checks run inside the workflow: a failed check retries the step once, stops the run or flags it, as the template says.
A sticky note at the top of the workflow repeats these steps for whoever opens it next.

Install a Claude skill

  1. Download the skill

Open a template and download its Claude skill. You get a zip of one folder, named after the skill, and the SKILL.md file on its own if you only want to read it.

  2. Put the folder where Claude looks for skills

In Claude Code, unzip it and copy the folder into your skills folder: ~/.claude/skills for all your work, or .claude/skills inside one project. In the Claude app, add it as a skill from the settings by uploading the zip. Menus change, so if yours looks different, look for Skills in the settings.

  3. Ask for the job in plain words

Claude reads the skill’s description and uses it when your request matches, for example "turn these meeting notes into decisions and actions". Paste your material when it asks.

What is in the folder

The folder holds SKILL.md (the steps and the checks), one file per step prompt in prompts/, and ADAPT.md when the template has notes on changing it.
The folder name and the name inside SKILL.md are the same, so it can be copied as it is.
