Organize a Prompt

Keep a source prompt, inspect a proposed structure and choose which version to take away.

A Worked Example

Job: Make a vague meeting-summary request easier to inspect.

Starting material: Source prompt: Summarize this meeting.

Useful Result to Aim For

A proposed draft can name the notes as its source, ask for decisions and actions separately, and request an owner only where the notes support one. Compare it with the original before copying.

What to check: The seven local signals flag text patterns. They do not show that an outside AI will produce a better answer.

Do It in the Tool

  1. Paste the source. Enter the prompt or task you want to organize.
  2. Answer useful questions. Add the reader, format or constraints that are missing.
  3. Compare. Inspect the organized draft and copy the version you choose.

The seven signals are local text matches, not evidence that an AI performed better.

Video walkthrough planned: Fix a Vague Prompt. Use the written steps above now.

Keep the Source Prompt

Paste the request you wrote, or a task you want broken into steps. Keep its exact wording available for comparison with the organized draft.

Answer Only Useful Questions

Add a reader, format or constraint only when it helps this task. Each answer is carried into the proposed prompt; inspect the exact change before copying.

Understand the Seven Local Signals

Clear and specific
It says plainly what to do, with no vague words.
Gives the context it needs
It says who the answer is for, what it is for, or gives the material to work on.
Concise
It has no greetings, polite padding, filler openers or stacked hedges.
Gives the AI a role
It says who the AI should be.
Says the output format
It says what shape the answer should take.
Shows an example
It shows an example of what a good answer looks like.
Sets limits
It says what not to do, or sets a limit on length or sources.

These are word and shape checks, not an AI result. They can miss a good prompt written in an unusual way. Use them as a second pair of eyes, then judge the wording yourself.

Choose the Current Draft or a Recipe

The organized draft is a proposed single prompt. The optional recipe breaks work into steps for use in your own AI. Neither is a measured improvement until you compare actual answers against your task and evidence.

Take Away the Result

Copy the current prompt you choose, download its result or keep the reusable recipe separately. No AI response is generated here.

Keep or Recover Your Work

Keep a copy of the source and chosen result. When the page offers an editable work file or a named Lab item, use it to restore settings and answers; a copied result alone is not that full work state.
