Build your first AI workflow: lesson 10 of 10

Adapting a Template

Every template is a starting point. Run it once as it is, then make it yours: swap the input for your own, change who the step writes for, or add a check your work needs. The steps and their order stay the same.

Start from a template that is close to what you need, and run it as it is first.

How to Make a Template Yours

  1. 1Run it as it is firstTry the template on your own material before you change anything. Then you know what each change did.
  2. 2Swap the inputUse your own notes, document or sources. The prompts already point at the marked place where your material goes.
  3. 3Change the readerThe same steps, written for someone else: a manager, a client, a colleague. Change it where the prompt names the reader.
  4. 4Add a check, keep the words togetherA rule your work needs, as one plain question after the step. If you rename a word such as “not stated”, rename it in every step and check, or they stop agreeing.

Pick the Change

For each case, pick the change that fits.

  1. 1

You have your own interview notes, and the template came with sample notes.

  2. 2

The summary is for your board, but the template writes for a general reader.

  3. 3

Your reports carry amounts in two currencies, and a mixed-up amount would cost you.

  4. 4

Your first run on your own notes passed every check and read well.
