Build your first AI workflow: lesson 8 of 10

Where a Person Must Look

Some things only a person can judge: whether a summary is fair, whether a fix list is right. A good workflow puts you at those points, after the automatic checks, and asks one plain question instead of pretending to answer it.

What Makes a Good Place to Look

  1. 1Last, not firstThe automatic checks run first, so you only look at work that has already passed them. Your time goes to the questions a rule cannot settle.
  2. 2A plain questionThe check says what to look at and what good looks like, in one sentence: “Is the summary fair to the report’s main finding?”
  3. 3Flag, never guessWhere your material is silent, the workflow flags the gap for you instead of filling it in.
  4. 4Your call stays yoursWhen a check needs your judgment, record it as your read, not as met. A tool does not get to settle fairness, tone or what is missing.

Check or Person?

For each question, pick who settles it.

  1. 1

Does every figure in the summary match a figure in the report?

  2. 2

Does the summary treat a difficult finding fairly?

  3. 3

Does every action in the notes have an owner and a due date, or say “no owner”?

  4. 4

With the names removed, could this text still point to one person through a job title or a rare detail?
