Using Lab

Keep named, editable work in this browser. Start with a tool; projects are optional. You can finish any public tool task without saving it here.

Start With an Item

  1. Start or reopen. Start a public tool or open an item in Recent Work.
  2. Save and organize. Save changes to the same item, or save a separate copy. Move items into a project when useful.
  3. Keep or share. Back up editable work, or choose specific items for a frozen share snapshot.

For example, prepare a meeting-notes prompt and save it as Monthly notes. It appears in Recent Work without a project. Later, save another prompt for a separate meeting. Both remain independently editable.

Projects Are Optional

Use New Project when several items belong together. Move Monthly notes into a project such as Team reports, or leave it in Loose Work. Moving an item changes its location, not its prompt or answers. Removing a project moves its items to Loose Work rather than deleting them.

Save, Copy and Download

Save this Lab item
Update the same named editable item. Reopen it from Lab home.
Save a separate Lab copy
Make an independent named item while keeping the earlier one.
Download a result
Keep the visible prompt or document. This is not a complete editable backup.
Download a work file
Keep one tool's editable fields for a later import.

Save actions report whether the browser kept the change. If saving fails, keep the current tab open and export a work file or backup where available. A change made in a second tab may require you to reload the latest item or keep your edit as a new copy.

Back Up Editable Work

Lab items live in this browser. Use Download All Work Backup on Lab home for a versioned file with editable inputs and project relationships. A selected item or project can also be backed up from its controls. Keep the file somewhere you control, especially before clearing browser data or switching devices. There is no account or automatic cloud sync.

  1. Choose a Lab backup file to restore. Nothing changes while you inspect its preview.
  2. Check its item and project names and any conflicts with work already in this browser.
  3. Choose Restore, Keep Existing Work for independent copies of matching IDs. Replace listed conflicts only when you intend to overwrite those exact records.

A prompt or document download is useful for reading and sharing, but it does not restore the complete editable workspace.

Share a Snapshot You Choose

  1. Open Share Selected Work on Lab home and choose only the named items to include.
  2. Choose current outputs and review sources only if the recipient needs them. Inspect the exact inputs, settings and dependencies in the preview.
  3. Create a link or download a share file when the selection is too large for a link. The recipient previews it before choosing an independent local copy.

A snapshot is frozen. It does not update when you edit your original item, and the recipient cannot edit yours. Anyone with its link or file can read its selected content; a link is not encrypted or revocable. Do not include source material you do not mean to share.

Video walkthrough planned: Back Up and Share Lab Work. Use the written steps above now.

Take One Selected Result to Your AI

Inspect the result in its tool, choose an outside AI and use Copy and open. The page copies only that selected result and opens a clean chat address. Paste it there yourself after checking what it contains. Lab does not run an AI, send your project or append other saved items. If copying or the new tab fails, use the manual text or destination link shown beside the action.

My List keeps bookmarks to pages. It does not hold your editable Lab items, projects or backups.

Help for the Tool You Are Using

Lab uses the same editors as the public tools. Their own instructions explain fields, evidence and exports; you can use those pages directly without entering Lab.
