Diagnose and fix

A draft can go wrong in a handful of ways. Read the draft, pick what went wrong, then see where it is and what good looks like.

  • A number with no source
A figure appears that you cannot find in what the AI was given.
  • A claim the source does not make
A sentence states something the material does not say, often a feeling or a cause.
  • A missing part
The reader would finish it and not know what to do, or a promised part is absent.
  • The wrong reader
The words, detail or tone do not suit the person who will read it.
  • Too long
It runs past what the reader will read, and the point is buried.

    Where
Point to the exact sentence, or the exact place that is empty.
  2. 2
    What is wrong
Say what the reader would get wrong, or not be able to do.
  3. 3
    What good looks like
Write the fix in one line, so anyone can apply it.
